Quality Conservation
Helping conservation projects
Helping groups and agencies meet their project objectives with experience and expert guidance.
We can make a difference.
Many projects have shown that a few dedicated people can make a remarkable difference.
There’s still work to do.
There’s a load of species and ecosystems that need our help. Our hard work, attention to detail, expertise and knowledge will help species and places survive, hopefully for a few more millennia.
People and islands
People are important to islands and islands are important to people. Globally, islands make up 5% of the land. In New Zealand, islands are only 1.2% of the land area (excluding North & South Islands). New Zealand has over 1,300 islands larger than a football field. Many are pest free. They are important places for species, ecosystems, recreation and culture, but are also the most vulnerable. Initially most pest free islands were uninhabited. Over the last two decades more inhabited islands have become free of pest animals or are planning to become free of pests. Keeping pests off islands is everyone’s responsibility.
